Reel to Reel: X: The Unheard Music

Featuring a post-screening conversation with director William Morgan and associate producer Alizabeth Foley

In conjunction with our current special exhibit, X: 40 Years of Punk in Los Angeles, the GRAMMY Museum presents a screening of X: The Unheard Film, followed by a post-screening conversation with director William Morgan and our Executive Director Scott Goldman. Often acclaimed as one of the greatest rock films ever made, this documentary—preserved by the Sundance Collection as a “seminal independent film”—is as vital today as the day it was released more than 30 years ago, providing an indelible record of underground America in the age of former President Ronald Reagan. This innovative and unconventional film puts viewers inside the world of X using a striking, visionary style reflecting the uncompromising passion and raw energy of their music. The documentary includes 17 X classics from their critically hailed first four albums: Los Angeles, Wild Gift, Under the Big Black Sun, and More Fun in the New World.

This program is free. Click here to RSVP. GRAMMY Museum Members receive priority seating.
