The Drop: Rita Wilson

With the recent release of her fourth new studio album, Halfway to Home, please welcome multi-talented singer-songwriter, actress, and producer, Rita Wilson for an intimate conversation and performance, moderated by Scott Goldman. Despite producing recording-breaking box office films, such as My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Mamma Mia!, and appearing in several popular television series such as GirlsCurb Your EnthusiasmFrasier, and Happy Days, Rita’s first love is music. Michelle Obama and Brandi Carlile have praised her work, while Rolling Stone called her latest music “inspiring” and “evocative.” Her new album Halfway to Home (March 2019), the follow-up to her intimate and stripped back album Bigger Picture (2018), has a fuller sound—Southern California rock meets Nashville country. The album is co-produced by Rita and Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift, Keith Urban), with additional production from Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa) and John Shanks (Bon Jovi, Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow). Many of the songs were co-written with an A-List group, such as GRAMMY-winner Liz Rose, Kristian Bush of Sugarland, Mozella (Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus), Mitch Allan (Demi Lovato), and Kara DioGuardi (Pink, Kelly Clarkson).  Fresh off her performance at Stagecoach, Rita will also be performing at CMA Fest (June 7) and Lake Shake (June 21), as well touring throughout June with friend Kristian Bush from the Grammy-Award winning band Sugarland.
