Spotlight: Cimafunk

The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Cuban singer, composer, and producer Cimafunk to the Museum’s Clive Davis Theater for an intimate conversation and performance moderated by Scott Goldman. Regarded as “one of the artists with the most future in Cuban music,” Cimafunk has become the pride and joy of the youth in Cuba, selling out the most historic venues on the island with fans scaling buildings to catch a glimpse of his shows from afar. Just recently, Cimafunk was listed as one of Billboard’s “10 Latin Artists to Watch in 2019” and was a breakout star at South by Southwest, where he created incredible buzz and hundreds were left out at his final showcase that closed its doors for capacity. With previous experience as a singer and composer in the band Interactivo, directed by famous pianist and composer Roberto Carcassés, and as a member of the band “Los Boys,” which became a pilar of Havana’s nightlife, Cimefunk’s talent is clear in his first solo album, Terapia, which he entirely composed and produced himself. Fusing funk and Afrocuban genres with lyrics that come straight from the streets of Cuba, Cimefunk’s music will get you dancing!
