The Drop: Better Oblivion Community Center
Apr 18 , 2019 Doors: 7 p.m. Show: 7:30PM
The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Better Oblivion Community Center to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate conversation on the making of their eponymous debut album. The discussion will be followed by a performance. Both renowned songwriters in their own right, Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers came together to form Better Oblivion Community Center after the two musicians toured together in Europe - Conor promoting his Salutations album and Phoebe promoting her debut Stranger In The Alps. The first song they wrote together, “Didn’t Know What I Was In For,” was initially planned as only a single but their fruitful songwriting sessions led to the recording of a full length album which they released in January 2019 as a surprise, performing for the first time ever on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on release date. The band will be returning to Los Angeles this summer for a show at The Wiltern on August 9.
