The Drop: Ben Platt

Celebrating the release of his full-length debut album, Sing To Me Instead, the GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome GRAMMY, Tony, and EMMY Award-winning vocalist, actor, and performer Ben Platt for an intimate conversation and performance, hosted by David Wild. Ben Platt broke through to superstar status as Evan Hansen in the critically acclaimed musical, Dear Evan Hansen, receiving the 2017 Tony Award for “Best Actor in a Musical,” among many other honors. His previous notable roles include Benji Applebaum in Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, Elder Arnold Cunningham in the Chicago production of The Book of Mormon, and more. In 2019, Ben released his first full-length album, Sing To Me Instead, sharing another side of himself as a solo artist. For the first time, Ben sings his own personal truth, as he chronicles the highs and lows of a transformative relationship. Showcasing his story, Ben penned several songs solo and co-wrote the remainder of material alongside songwriters who have written for the likes of Sara Bareilles, Adele, Dua Lipa, and more. Sing To Me Instead brings audiences closer to Ben than ever before. In addition to his recent album, Ben will be executive producing and starring in the new Ryan Murphy series, The Politician, on Netflix this September 27th.
