Take Me Out To The Ball Game: Popular Music And The National Pastime

Featuring Former MLB Player and Musician Barry Zito

In conjunction with the opening of the brand new exhibit, Take Me Out To The Ball Game: Popular Music And The National Pastime, the GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to host a conversation with former MLB player and musician Barry Zito, moderated by Scott Goldman, followed by a performance from Zito. A master on the mound in the major leagues for years, Barry Zito had a virtually unstoppable curve that often proved unbeatable and earned him the coveted Cy Young Award right out of the gate at age twenty-four. A studied and disciplined scholar at whatever art he’s attempting to master, the world class athlete is now throwing that heat in a new direction – his music. After retiring from his baseball career in 2015, Zito turned his full attention to music and began crafting the songs that would fill his first album. Please join us for this special evening with Barry Zito, celebrating our new exhibit opening. Attendees will be able to view the exhibit from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., prior to the program.
