A Conversation With Andrea Bocelli, Matteo Bocelli, & Bob Ezrin

The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome iconic contemporary classical singer Andrea Bocelli for an intimate conversation on the making of his acclaimed 2018 global best-selling album, . Joining him in the discussion moderated by Scott Goldman will be legendary music producer who worked on the album, Bob Ezrin, as well as Bocelli’s son, Matteo, who is featured on the album’s standout duet track, “Fall On Me.”

is Andrea Bocelli’s first album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and is the artist’s first album of new material in 14 years. After 15 albums covering classical and pop canons, Bocelli embraced his new creative challenge—finding a collection of songs that would speak to his emotional and intellectual interests, fit with his matchless repertoire, and present the chance to offer something new, musically, to an audience that stretches to every corner of the globe. The result is an album about heart and soul, positivity and family, melody and magic. Featuring songs in both Italian and English, amongst other highlights,  includes, for the first time, a duet with his son Matteo; contributions from some of his key writer/composers; and an emotional homage to his wife, Veronica.

Bocelli’s extremely special duet with 22-year-old son, Matteo Bocelli, is a standout track on the album. Titled “Fall On Me,” the song sees father and son performing together for the first time. Matteo wrote the Italian lyrics of the song, and the video of the song hit over 40 million views worldwide, becoming the most viewed video on the record and one of Andrea Bocelli’s most viewed videos of all time.

The father-son duo was put together by legendary music producer Bob Ezrin, who not only produced the track “Fall On Me,” but the majority of songs on the album  as well. An acclaimed music and entertainment producer and entrepreneur, with a career that has spanned nearly 50 years, Bob Ezrin has worked around the world on recordings, TV, film and live event production with a wide variety of additional artists including Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, KISS, Lou Reed, U2, Jay-Z, Peter Gabriel, 2Celllos, The Tenors, Aerosmith, Hollywood Vampires, Deftones, Rod Stewart, Nine Inch Nails and Pete Seeger among many others. Ezrin’s expertise as a producer helped bring Bocelli’s vision for the album to life, digging deep to deliver a set of powerful, emotional songs that topped the Billboard Top 200 chart upon its debut and served as a record-setting milestone in Andrea Bocelli’s career.
