POSTPONED - Half The Animal
May 1 , 2017 Doors: 7:30PM Show: 8:00PM
Hailing from SoCal's Laguna Beach, Half The Animal is made up of lead singer Chase Johnson, drummer Nick Gross, bassist Evan Smith and guitarist Dan Graham. The pop/alternative rock outfit came alive in 2016 with critically praised singles "Babylon" and "Saturday Night," both of which appear on the band's upcoming March 31 EP release SHAPES. With the support of fellow hit songwriters J Kash (Maroon 5, Kesha) and Ammo (Jason Derulo, Katy Perry), SHAPES marks the band's opening statement, unleashing bold pop/rock melodies, atmospheric guitar tones, and dance-your-face off drum grooves. Hailed by OC Weekly as a "catchy brand of alternative rock" and by Ones To Watch as a band with "anthemic, sonically massive tunes," the group have been playing a number of high energy dates throughout the West Coast. Utilizing a non-linear approach to their songwriting and production that captivates audiences, the band embraces diversity throughout their new EP; SHAPES embodies the emotional spectrum of a storied history within the band and introduces listeners to the multidimensional sound they will come to know. The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Half The Animal to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate discussion on their EP SHAPES, followed by a special performance. The evening will be hosted by Scott Goldman, Vice President of the GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares.
